Swans launch soccer camps at Cwmdu
8th August
Swansea City have launched a new Development Centre that will hold the club's very own soccer camps to train stars of the future.
The facility in Cwmdu for children age five to 11 will focus on youth development with training sessions from our Academy coaches.
The pre-academy, which boasts three 3G football pitches, will give young footballers the opportunity to train, make friends and learn new skills from qualified Swans Academy coaches.
Players will also have the chance to progress up into the clubs Academy ranks.
The two weeks of camps start from Tuesday, August 19 to Friday, August 29 while we will also hold an open day on Monday, August 18.
Academy Manager Nigel Rees said: "I'm really excited about the launch of this new project for Swansea City.
"This new centre at Cwmdu will only help develop more players of the future from the local and surrounding area.
"We've seen how successful our soccer camps have been across South Wales over the summer, now we have the chance to bring more to their doorstep.
"With coaches from our Academy at Landore taking training sessions the camps also offer an opportunity for talented young players to get spotted and maybe progress into our Academy.
"This site really will offer players a smooth transition to hopefully one day becoming a Swansea player."
