Swans launch official YouTube channel
8th September
Swansea City is pleased to announce the 'official' launch of its club YouTube channel at www.swanstv.com.
We have been trialling the site over the last few months with the aim of securing a permanent partnership with YouTube via our website provider FLi.
The response over the trial period has been amazing, especially coverage of our recent pre-season tour to Holland.
Over 339,000 fans worldwide watched our friendly highlights against FC Gravenzande, while over 112,000 tuned in to see some of the club's new players give their initiation song in a fun feature. Moving on from Holland to the West Country and 251,000 sampled the highlights against Exeter City. All our manager and player interviews have also smashed expectations.
Its success has meant we are pleased to say we are now going all official on YouTube.
The partnership will allow us to bring you all the exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, new features and plenty of interviews from the new training ground at Landore, the Liberty Stadium and on the road in Europe and the Barclays Premier League.
Even better . . . it's all FREE to Swans fans everywhere.
Contractual restrictions in the past has limited our video coverage to the subscription-based Swans Player on the official site. But we've been pushing hard to spread the Swans message worldwide - for FREE.
We will also be allowing most media outlets to tap into our YouTube coverage so they can help us propel the Swans brand global.
Swans Player will still be in existence on a subscription basis, but the service will concentrate on providing a live matchday commentary service of all Barclays Premier League and domestic cup games, plus match highlights.
Rights restrictions prevent us showing Premier League highlights on YouTube, but they will be available on Swans Player along with an in-depth archive of match action from past campaigns.

In the meantime, we'll be bringing you plenty of Swans coverage to kick off our new partnership with YouTube.
You can subscribe to the channel now for free HERE to guarantee you are kept up-to-date with all the forthcoming coverage.
