Swans depart for America tour

The Swans step up preparations for the 2016-17 campaign with the squad flying out to America today for a two-game tour.
Francesco Guidolin's squad will be based in Washington DC for a week-long training camp to help prepare for friendly matches against United Soccer League sides Charlotte Independence (July 13) and Richmond Kickers (July 16).
For the tour, the Swans have taken a 23-man squad which includes new signings Leroy Fer and Mike van der Hoorn along with young talents Daniel James, Joe Rodon, Connor Roberts and Oliver McBurnie also gaining valuable first-team experience.
Andre Ayew, who was recently in action for Ghana, didn't fly out with the rest of the squad but he will meet up with his Swans team-mates in America following a short break.
Euro 2016 quartet Ashley Williams, Neil Taylor, Lukasz Fabianski and Gylfi Sigurdsson are not part of the squad as they are given extra time off while Ki Sung-Yueng and Jefferson Montero are also rested following international commitments.
Midfielder Matt Grimes, meanwhile, was not part of the travelling party after he joined Leeds United on loan today.
