Swans boss Williams hails pair on day of milestones
Swansea City head coach Luke Williams praised matchwinner Ronald and club stalwart Kyle Naughton after they achieved notable milestones in the 2-1 win at Sunderland.
Brazilian winger Ronald scored his first goals for the club as his first-half brace set the Swans on their way to three points at the Stadium of Light.
Naughton, meanwhile, joined a select group of players to have made 300 appearances in Swansea colours.
Both were prominent in a fine all-round team display, and Williams was delighted for the pair.
“I am so happy for Ronald, I think he deserves that,” said Williams.
“We have got to know him really quickly and that he is going to run and leave everything on the pitch for the team.
“He is creative, but we now can also see that he can score goals.
“I thought he had netted himself a hat-trick when he slid in at the far post at one point, that was really close.
“And talking about Kyle Naughton is one of my favourite things to do. I just think he is incredible, he is a class act.
“He has had a bit of a disjointed season, he is picking up a lot of minutes and these games in the Championship are ferocious. The way he is coming through them is incredible.
“The achievement to play 300 games for any club is fantastic, what more can we say other than that it is lovely to have him in our squad and to be able to watch him play football.”
