Survival experience is key, says Federico
Federico Fernandez believes last season’s successful battle to beat the drop could prove vital in the Swans’ current Premier League survival bid.
Following Monday night’s defeat at Everton, Paul Clement’s side prop up the table as the top-flight campaign reaches the halfway stage this weekend.
Clement steered the Swans to safety with a 15th-place finish last term after picking up 29 points from his 19 league games in charge.
And Fernandez, who played a key role in last season's survival push, believes that experience will give the Swans added confidence that they can rise out of the bottom three again.
“Last season we were in the same situation as we are in now, so we know what it takes,” said Fernandez, who now prepares for Saturday’s crunch clash with Crystal Palace at the Liberty.
“It is a difficult time for us, but we all want the same outcome and everyone will work hard to get us away from trouble.
“It is not going to be easy, but we can do it – we proved that last season.”
