Steven Benda completes transfer to Fulham
Swansea City goalkeeper Steven Benda has joined Fulham for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 24-year-old joins the Cottagers after spending six years in SA1, making 31 senior appearances in total.
Benda signed for the Swans from 1860 Munich in 2017, initially joining the club’s academy set-up, and was included in the first-team matchday squad on 14 occasions during the 2018-19 season.
The following campaign saw him help Swindon to promotion to League One while on loan, before he made his senior debut for the Swans in a home win over Millwall early in the 2020-21 campaign.
During the 2021-22 season, Benda joined Championship club Peterborough United on loan and made 11 appearances - including in an FA Cup tie against Manchester City - having started the season as first choice for Swansea.
He featured on 23 occasions during the 2022-23 season before a serious knee injury, which he is still recovering from, sidelined him.
Everyone at Swansea City thanks Steven for his efforts during his time at the club, and wishes him well in his future career.
