Steve Cooper | We've responded well, but we have to keep it going
Steve Cooper has been pleased by how Swansea City have responded to adversity, but has warned it will count for little if they do not build on back-to-back victories.
The Swans host Wycombe Wanderers at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon following consecutive away wins and clean sheets at Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday.
Those results were a timely boost as Swansea had lost the previous four without scoring, and it has allowed them to close within seven points of second-placed Watford, and nine clear of seventh-placed Reading in the promotion picture.
Cooper’s squad now face home games against the Chairboys and Queens Park Rangers, knowing two wins would all-but secure a play-off berth.
And he is keen to see them keep moving forward after returning to winning ways.
“We’ve certainly played well in the last two games, and that’s what we are after, to win games playing well,” said Cooper.
“That was needed, but it’s important we build on it. This is a chance to do that and all eyes are on Wycombe.
“We have changed formation a bit with the back four, but there are a lot of similarities and it’s hard to put your finger on it exactly.
“We have just committed to our plan even more than we have already done, and got back to the levels we should be at.
“We have made sure we don’t hide and trust that can play well and win.
“The last two games have been a good example, but we have to build on it.
“We just have to win games. We are aware of the standings and how things are, but if we don’t win games along the way the situation will not change for the better.”
