Steve Cooper | We look forward and back ourselves to do better
Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to back themselves to produce a better performance when they head to take on Bristol City on Saturday.
Two of the Championship’s early pacesetters will lock horns at Ashton Gate, with the Swans heading to Bristol on the back of the midweek draw at Coventry.
While happy to claim a point, Cooper was not so pleased with how the Swans performed at St Andrew’s, and is keen to see an improvement.
“I think we just have to look forward now, we’ve got to look at what’s coming our way,” said the head coach.
“We have got another tough game to look forward to on Saturday, where we have got to back ourselves and go for it.
“We will have a few days to pick the bones out of this one, take the good bits and improve on the bad bits, and we know there are a few of those to work on.
“We will stick together and move forward. We know we can play a lot better than we did in the last game.”
Swansea will head to face the Robins protecting a nine-match unbeaten run in away league fixtures, stretching back to defeat at Fulham in February.
And Cooper feels that sequence underlines the character his players are showing.
“It shows the boys are giving everything, which they do, and they are,” he added.
“It’s no easy feat, and it’s one we want to continue. I think we were one of the last teams to lose an away game last season, too.
“It shows we can take our way of playing to opposition grounds, but we are also fighting to get the results.”
