Steve Cooper | We believe in Yan
Steve Cooper has no doubt Yan Dhanda will continue to catch the eye for Swansea City after the midfielder proved the matchwinner against Charlton.
The 21-year-old struck the decisive blow as he curled home a lovely strike from the edge of the area in the 14th minute.
It was his second goal of the season – the other having come in the reverse fixture against the Addicks – and came in his 10th appearance in all competitions.
And, with Dhanda having recently signed a new contract through to 2022, head coach Cooper has no doubt there will be plenty more where that moment of magic came from.
“We believe in Yan, he has just signed a new contract and that tells you we have that belief in him,” said Cooper.
“He has had to be patient for his starts but, to be fair to him, when he is given the nod he delivers.
“It was an excellent goal and I thought he played well in the first half. Naturally he did run out of a bit of steam, as he can do at this stage of his development.
“But we know what he can do, he is capable of that.
“He can catch the eye in training with his technical ability. In the end I thought he did a good job for the team.”
