Steve Cooper | That was our best performance yet
Head coach Steve Cooper hailed Swansea City’s victory over Birmingham as their best performance of the season.
The Swans now have 13 points from a possible 15 on the board after three goals in the space of 12 second-half minutes from Kyle Naughton, Bersant Celina and Borja Baston sealed an emphatic triumph over Pep Clotet’s Blues.
Swansea are in the midst of their best start to a season in 41 years, and are unbeaten in 14 home league games for the first time since moving to the Liberty Stadium in 2005.
They were completely dominant against Birmingham, enjoying 74 per cent of possession, and Cooper felt it was the closest his side have come so far to a 90-minute display.
“I think that was our best performance in terms of the 90 minutes,” he said.
“We have had good halves in previous games, particularly at home where the second halves have been the stand outs.
“But the focus on top of the gameplan was to start well and play at our level for 90 minutes, and I felt we did that.
“I know we came in 0-0 at half-time, but I was happy with how we are playing. I just felt we needed to be more prepared to take risks at the top of the pitch and fortunately the players did that.”
