Steve Cooper | January window positive for Swansea City
Steve Cooper believes Swansea City enjoyed a positive January transfer window after deadline day ended a busy month for the club.
The Swans brought in Rhian Brewster, Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher on loan from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.
Sam Surridge was recalled by parent club Bournemouth, while there were loan moves for Kristoffer Peterson, Declan John, Barrie McKay, and Jack Evans.
Borja Baston, Tom Carroll, Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Cian Harries left the club over the course of the month.
And Cooper felt January had proved to be a good period for the club, both from a football and a business perspective.
“All the boys who left over the course of the month; we wish them well,” said head coach Cooper.
“What I would say without talking about any individual too much is that the football club has made all the decisions.
“It has been right for them in terms of the players coming in and the players going out.
“We have been creative in terms of the additions and got ahead of one or two others to get the players in.
“At the same time, we would not stand in a few players’ way to move on, be it a permanent or a loan move.
“That proved to be the case, we might have liked to do it a bit earlier but I know that is not always possible and is easier said than done.
“I think from the football side, there are no complaints from me.
“From the business side, I think the club will be pleased as well.”
