Stacey John-Davis | It's another step in the right direction

Swansea City Women’s forward Stacey John-Davis described her sides quarter-final win against Cascade YC Ladies as another step in the right direction after her hat-trick inspired a 5-0 win.
John-Davis’ first half volley saw the Swans take a two goal lead into the break, before rounding the goalkeeper for her second after the restart and a second volley of the afternoon 12 minutes later completing the hat-trick.
Goals from Emily Richards and Jasmine Guymer either side of John-Davis’ hat-trick helped the Swans to a 5-0 victory, securing their place in the Genero Adran Trophy semi-finals for a second consecutive season.
John-Davis was delighted to be back in the semi-finals and felt it was a crucial step for the team to take towards their goals for the season.
“We’re over the moon to be into the semi-finals,” said John-Davis.
“I’m delighted to be coming away with some goals on the scoresheet today, but the aim was to get ourselves into that semi-final and we’ve done that.
“At the start of the season we said that we wanted to make sure we were competing for all three cups, that starts by reaching the semi-finals today and it’s another step in the right direction.
“Our game plan remains consistent no matter who we play, they are an organised side that fight for everything and that showed today in the game.
“We stuck to our game plan and executed it, it doesn’t matter who we are facing, nothing changes in that regard.
“It’s always lovely to come away with the goals, it’s nice to get three, I don’t think I’ve had a hat-trick in a little while so it was quite nice to get back amongst it.”
