Season in review 2022-23 | July 2022

With the 2022-23 season having reached its conclusion, we take a look back at a topsy-turvy campaign for the Swans.

Here, we kick things off by looking back at the month of July, as the season got under way early in order to accommodate the winter World Cup in Qatar.

July 2022

By the time the Swans rocked up at the AESSEAL New York Stadium for their opening Championship fixture against Rotherham, the likes of Nathan Wood, Harry Darling and Joe Allen had joined the club, while Korey Smith, Ben Hamer and Flynn Downes had been among those to move on.

The trip to south Yorkshire was the sole fixture in the month, but it proved memorable for Darling as he marked his Swansea debut with a stunning goal.

The spoils were shared, although the Swans could easily have taken all three points if Michael Obafemi had finished a tap-in at the far post.
