Sam Surridge savours "special" Wigan winner
Sam Surridge was delighted to provide another special moment in Swansea City’s season after popping up to grab the winner at Wigan.
The DW Stadium clash looked to be heading for a draw after goals from Nathan Dyer for the Swans, and Kieffer Moore for the Latics.
But Surridge got across his man to head Connor Roberts’ excellent deliver beyond David Marshall and secure all three points.
It was the on-loan striker’s fifth goal of the season and he couldn’t hide his delight at proving to be the matchwinner from the bench.
“It was brilliant,” he said.
“I saw the ball coming into the box and thought that Andre was going to get there before me.
“One of us was going to get it. I just made sure I got a good connection on the header and I was delighted with the result of it.
“To be honest, I didn’t realise how late it was in the game. I didn’t realise it was the 93rd minute; I didn't even know we were in stoppage time.
“So, it’s a special moment. My first Championship goal against QPR was special, and getting a 93rd-minute winner is right up there as one of my best moments with Swansea so far.”
