Russell Martin | We all need to show courage
Swansea City head coach Russell Martin has urged his side to show selflessness and courage when they face Rotherham United in front of the Sky Sports cameras tonight (8pm).
The Swans host a Millers side looking to open up the gap between them and the bottom three towards the foot of the Championship table.
The home side are looking for a victory to snap a difficult run of one win from five games and to try and narrow an eight-point gap to the top six.
Midfielder Joe Allen has spoken of the need for the players to take responsibility and produce consistent performances over the remainder of the season.
And Swans boss Martin believes a willingness to work hard for each other as a group will be a key aspect against a team fighting for their lives.
“All we are going to ask on Monday is for everyone to show as much courage as they possibly can, to run and to sweat for us and for each other,” he said.
“I genuinely believe that will be enough to make a difference for us, it’s about showing that courage on Monday.
"We are facing a team that's fighting for their lives, they are very different in their style to us but they are very good in what they do.
“They made some very good additions in January, they added some real experience at the level, and they're a team that’s going to come here, work and be aggressive in their approach to try and make it as difficult for us as possible."
