Russell Martin facing selection headache ahead of Reading clash
Russell Martin admits he will face a selection headache for Swansea City’s clash with Reading following the impact of his substitutes against Coventry.
The Swans head to face the Royals at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Tuesday, December 27 (5.15pm) with a nearly fully fit squad to choose from.
Liam Walsh remains sidelined, while Michael Obafemi is set to return to full fitness over the busy festive period.
After seeing Ollie Cooper, Joe Allen, Harry Darling, Armstrong Oko-Flex and Liam Cullen help his side rally from 3-0 down to earn a point against the Sky Blues last time out, Martin has plenty of competition for starting places.
“The squad is in good shape and training has gone well. Everyone is fit and raring to go,” said Swansea's head coach.
“We will have some big decisions to make with the impact of the subs on Saturday.
“That is exciting for us, the boys have trained well and we have a few more days of work before Reading. We want to go there and perform as well as we did over that first hour last season.
“Michael is not 100 per cent but I think he will be involved over the festive period. He has not joined in with the group as yet, he has been doing work on his own rehabilitation but he is getting closer and closer.”
