Rodon | We have to kick on

Defender Rodon was among a number of young players to make the breakthrough into the senior set up, with the Swans among the EFL teams to have given the most minutes to players aged 23 and under.

Daniel James, Connor Roberts, Oli McBurnie, George Byers and Matt Grimes were among the other young guns to impress as the Swans' late surge towards the play-off spots came up short.

But Rodon knows it will count for little if they do not build and improve.

“I have to keep improving, that’s the nature of football. If you stand still you will get left behind. It’s the same for us as a team,” he said.

“I take a lot of confidence from the season just gone and now we have to go away for the off-season and make sure we come back with a massive push.

“Hopefully we can hit the ground running.”
