Robyn Pinder | Everyone is hitting good form
Swansea City Women’s forward Robyn Pinder is delighted to head into the Christmas break with the Swans in fine form.
The Swans made it eight wins from their last nine games as they finished 2023 with a 4-0 win over Barry Town United Women in the Genero Adran Premier.
Stacey John-Davis opened the scoring early for the Swans, before Nia Davies’ own goal made doubled the advantage less than a minute later.
Katy Hosford made it three with ten minutes to go before Pinder added a fourth from close range to register her sixth goal of the season and send the Swans second in the Genero Adran Premier.
Pinder praised the form of her teammates as feels that the entire squad is finding their rhythm.
“We wanted to finish the year strong, we’ve worked hard and now it’s time for a Christmas break,” she said Pinder.
“It’s always nice to contribute with the goals, but I’m becoming a bit of a tap in merchant!
“I think we are really starting to find our form; people are starting to really hit some performance goals, and everybody is in form.
“We’ve got a bit of momentum now so in some ways you don’t want the Christmas break, but I think we will come back firing.
“We’ve had a couple of cup games against lower-league opposition, but we showed against Barry that we are in good form, we’re scoring more goals and a clean sheet which has been really important for us.”
Pinder, who began the season playing as a forward for the Swans, has found herself in a deeper role in recent games, but says that she is happy to play anywhere to help the Swans achieve their goals this season.
“I think I prefer being in midfield as I tend to drop deep anyway. When I was a bit younger, I would run in behind, but I’ll play anywhere for this team so long as I’m out there helping the girls,” explained the attacked.
“We’ve been putting in the hard work, so to be in this position at Christmas after a tough start, everybody is really pleased and determined to keep this going.”
