Richards: We should have won
Gary Richards felt Swansea City Under-23s should have taken all three points as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 with Tottenham in Premier League 2 at Landore.
Goals from Courtney Baker-Richardson and Jordan Garrick put the young Swans 2-0 up inside 20 minutes before Kazaiah Sterling pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and then made it 2-2 at the break.
George Byers almost struck the winner for Swansea in the second half, but his shot came back off the post.
The draw means the Swans' unbeaten league run has stretched to eight games, with the development side staying fourth in the Division One table.
“It was a strange game,” Richards admitted.
“We felt we dominated the first half but still found ourselves level at the break.
“We created a number of opportunities and are pleased with our performance but disappointed with the goals we conceded.
“When you are the better team on the night you need to make the chances you create count and go and win the game. Tonight we did not do that.
“A draw is disappointing, but we were solid defensively and if you can’t win a game like that you definitely must not lose.”
