Report | Swansea City Women 4 Llanfair United Ladies 0
Swansea City Women progressed to the quarter-finals of the Genero Adran Trophy with a comfortable victory over Llanfair United Ladies.
Aimee Deacon continued her rich vein of form when she put the Swans in front in the first half, rounding the goalkeeper for a simple finish.
Chloe Chivers doubled the lead with a stunning strike from distance in the second half, with Emily Thomas and Emily Richards adding further goals.
The Swans had the chance to take an early lead against their Genero Adran North opponents, but Nia Jones could only head a corner over the bar.
Soon after they had penalty appeals waved away when Deacon burst into the box and appeared to be pushed, while Katy Hosford had an effort saved after linking up with Sammy Wynne.
But the Swans would take the lead after 17 minutes, Deacon was slid through on goal by Chivers, and the striker rounded the keeper to smash home her seventh goal in her last three games.
Deacon came close to a second soon after, a great ball from Lucy Finch finding the forward near the edge of the box, but her effort flew over the bar.
Finch played another excellent pass moments later, but Wynne could not connect at the far stick, while Robyn Pinder shot straight at the keeper after good work from Thomas.
The Swans retained their lead at the break and they almost added a second shortly after the restart.
Chivers’ low cross finding Hosford in the box, but the captain's effort struck the bar. The rebound fell to Deacon in the six-yard box, but her shot was cleared off the line.
But the Swans would finally get their second from an incredible strike by Chivers. The forward lined up a free-kick from over 30 yards out and powered the ball past the keeper to make it 2-0.
Just four minutes later it would be 3-0 as Thomas cut in from the right before arrowing a low shot into the bottom corner.
Richards went on to round off the scoring with 10 minutes to go, finding the bottom corner with a left-footed shot.
