Swansea City Under-21s suffered heartbreak in stoppage time as Millwall came back to snatch three points with two late goals at the Joma High Performance Centre.

Both teams netted inside the first four minutes of the contest. Alfie Massey got the first goal of the afternoon for the visitors, before Kyrell Wilson levelled a minute later.

The Swans then took the lead through Thomas Woodward 10 minutes later, only for Sheldon Kendall's 25th minute strike to restore parity once more.

Wilson completed his brace just beyond the hour mark as the Swans led again, but a penalty from Tom Leahy and an Abdulahi Abdulazeez goal saw the Lions snatch victory in a thriller.

The Swans had seen Jack Fanning handed his first start in almost nine months, after the centre-back sustained an injury in last season's Professional Development League Cup final against Millwall's Under-18s.

Millwall were ahead with fewer then three minutes on the clock. Massey capitalised on a mistake in the Swans defence before smashing the ball over Kit Margetson.

But the Swans were level immediately after the restart, a fantastic team move ended with Woodward finding Wilson driving forward, and he made no mistake to slot the ball home from close range.

Swansea took control after levelling the scores, and were rewarded with another well-worked goal as they took the lead.

Josh Pescatore's corner bounced around in the box before falling at Woodward's feet, and the attacking midfielder chipped it over the diving Jakub Przewozny.

Wilson continued to cause problems for the visitors, and he was unleashed one-on-one showing as he showed his pace, only for the striker's run was cut short by Lions' skipper Chin Okoli.

But The Lions would be back on level terms with 25 minutes played. Kendall, unmarked outside of the area, drilled a low effort that deflected into the bottom corner.

And The Swans suffered a further blow before the interval when Margetson was forced off by injury, with Sam Seager taking his place.

Woodward was denied his second of the afternoon when Przewozny tipped away his low strike, while Millwall came closest in the early stages of the second half when Seager claimed Leahy's volley.

At the other end, Swansea fashioned a great chance as Pescatore's fizzing cross was put wide by Ramon Rees Siso.

But Rees-Riso would play a big part when Swansea's third goal arrived as his brilliant driving run saw him beat two covering defenders before squaring for Wilson to find the far corner.

In the closing stages, Swansea created a handful of further chances through Rees-Siso and Sammy Henia-Kamau, but Millwall would be awarded a penalty for handball with the clock closing in on 90 minutes.

The spot-kick was converted by Leahy, and the Lions attacked from the restart to clinch the winner in the 93rd minute through substitute Abdulazeez.
