Sammy Henia-Kamau v Baglan

Swansea City Under-21s made it back-to-back wins as they claimed victory over Charlton Athletic in the Professional Development League.

Sammy Henia-Kamau broke the deadlock with 23-minutes played after he finished well from Josh Pescatore's low cross at the Joma High Performance Centre.

Pescatore grabbed a goal of his own two minutes later from the spot after Morgan Bates was brought down in the box, although the Addicks netted a penalty of their own before half-time, which was converted by skipper Harvey Kedwell.

But Jersey-born Henia-Kamau completed his brace in the closing stages with a fine finish, assisted by Pescatore once more, to seal the win for the hosts.

The Swans had made the running from the off, with Thomas Woodward and Henia-Kamau having shots blocked inside the opening 60 seconds.

The game settled down after that frantic start and there were no chances of note during the remainder of the first quarter with Swansea keeper Kit Margetson easily gathering a deflected Ibrahim Fullah strike.

But the hosts would soon take the lead through a well-worked goal. A low delivery from Pescatore on the right found Henia-Kamau in the middle, and he cut inside his man before drilling home the opener.

Almost immediately after the restart, the hosts attacked again, and won a penalty when Morgan Bates was fouled inside the area.

Pescatore stepped up to take the spot-kick and sent the keeper the wrong way as he went from provider to scorer in a matter of seconds.

However, approaching half-time the visitors were also awarded a penalty and Kedwell made no mistake to narrow the visitors' deficit at the interval.

Early in the second half, Woodward had a shot blocked by Ryan Huke, while Callum Deacon's fine delivery from a free-kick somehow evaded a sea of white shirts in the area.

Deacon then sent an effort over the bar from Jacob Cook's low corner, but the Swans would restore their two-goal cushion when Pescatore and Henia-Kamau linked up again for the latter to apply a first-time finish.

Swansea continued to create plenty of chances in the closing stages. The trialist's header drew a fine save from the Charlton keeper, who also denied a trialist, while Jack Fanning had a header cleared off the line as the home side claimed the spoils.
