Report | Swansea City 1 Hull City 0

Žan Vipotnik struck the winner from the penalty spot as Swansea City deservedly beat Hull City to claim a fourth victory in a row.
The Slovenian netted his seventh goal of the season in the second half, after John Egan was adjudged to have handled the striker’s goalbound shot.
That, allied to yet another clean sheet, means the Swans have now won a quartet of league games without conceding for the first time since March 2008, just over 17 years ago.
It was no less than the home side deserved in front of a bumper home sell-out bank holiday crowd, as they had much the better of the contest against stubborn opponents battling to avoid relegation.
The Swans had shown two changes from the win at Sunderland, with Joe Allen and Vipotnik coming into the side for Jay Fulton and Liam Cullen respectively.
The Tigers made one change from their midweek draw against Coventry City as Gustavo Puerta took the place of Steven Alzate in midfield.
The opening was initially scrappy, although one lovely pass from Josh Tymon nearly sent Jisung Eom in on goal down the left side of the penalty area.
A terrible error from Sean McLoughlin then allowed Ronald to chip a deflected cross to the back post that O’Brien met firmly with his head, but Charlie Hughes did superbly to block as the ball arrowed towards the far corner of the net.
Swansea were beginning to spend long periods in the Hull half and Ronald sent a rising drive over the bar from distance with just over 20 minutes on the clock.
Josh Key then got to an inswinging corner ahead of Hull keeper Ivan Pandur, but an orange shirt was on hand to block before a goalmouth scramble in which Goncalo Franco had a shot blocked.

McLoughlin was fortunate to remain on the pitch soon when, already on a booking, a cynical foul stopped a promising Swansea attack and he was soon withdrawn with Cody Drameh taking his place.
The hosts appealed in vain for a penalty when Vipotnik went down as he attempted to reach Tymon’s excellent low cross towards the six-yard box six minutes before the interval.
Swansea picked up where they left off after the interval, putting pressure on their opponents and pinning them in their own half.
And they were given the chance to take the lead when Vipotnik brought down a cross in the area and saw his shot blocked by Egan, with the officials adjudging he had used his hands and the referee pointed to the spot.
The Slovenian stepped up to the spot and sent a low effort to the keeper’s bottom-right corner.
O’Brien fired low into Pandur’s gloves after breaking into the left-side of the penalty area before Hull had a penalty shout of their own turned away when Lincoln burst into the box and went down as he and Key converged on a through ball.

Pandur got down well to deny Vipotnik’s low drive from distance before Lawrence Vigouroux made his first meaningful save just beyond the hour as he cleanly gathered in a Matt Crooks header.
Eom dragged a low effort wide after his initial effort had struck Franco and come straight back to him.
Hull began to commit bodies forward as time ran out and Hughes' header was just about tipped around the post by Vigouroux.
But the visitors would end the game with 10 men after substitute Crooks picked up a second yellow for a crude lunge on Franco in stoppage time.
