Report: Swans 4 West Ham 1

The Swans lifted themselves out of the relegation zone with a resounding victory over West Ham at the Liberty.

Carlos Carvalhal's side put in one of their finest performances of the campaign as they recorded a seventh consecutive victory on home soil.

It took eight minutes to break the deadlock as Andre Ayew - facing his former club - teed up Ki Sung-Yueng, and the South Korean drove home from 20 yards.

The Swans, playing with plenty of energy and drive, continued to dominate and it took a superb goal-line block by Declan Rice to prevent Federico Fernandez from doubling the lead.

During that scramble, West Ham lost Winston Reid through injury, which gave the visitors further problems.

Andre Ayew then tested Adrian with a rasping drive before the Swans got their second goal just past the half-hour mark.

Ki Sung-Yueng's pinpoint corner found the unmarked Mike van der Hoorn, and the Dutchman nodded home his first of the season from point-blank range.

Carvalhal's side were well on top, and they didn't stop pushing for a third.

That came just three minutes after the break, and Andre Ayew was involved again.

He was denied a goal against his former club after Adrian kept out his headed effort, but Andy King poked home to mark his full debut with a goal.

The visitors were starved of possession and chances, but when one did come their way, Marko Arnautovic saw his shot saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

But that proved a rare worry for the Swans, who further strengthened their grip on the game just past the hour mark.

Once again it was Andre Ayew who claimed the assist - his third of the day - with the Ghanaian winning the race to the ball in the box before being tripped by Cheikhou Kouyate.

Up stepped his brother Jordan, and he made no mistake from 12 yards to make it 4-0.

The Hammers did score a consolation, through Michail Antonio, but by then the job was done for the Swans, who moved above their opponents in the table with 30 points from 29 games.
