Report: Swans 0 Brighton 1
Glenn Murray's first-half strike condemned the Swans to another home defeat as Premier League newboys Brighton claimed victory at the Liberty.
A fifth loss in six matches in SA1 meant it was yet another disappointing afternoon for Paul Clement's side.
In a game which failed to see many chances created by either side, the defining moment came in the 27th minute.
Anthony Knockaer's cross caught out Federico Fernandez and Murray used his thigh to guide the ball home past Lukasz Fabianski.
The Polish keeper then produced a superb reflex save to deny Lewis Dunk from point-blank range.
After the break, Tammy Abraham was denied by keeper Mathew Ryan after he had latched onto Nathan Dyer's neat pass.
From the resulting corner, a scramble in the box eventually saw Abraham pounce on the loose, but he failed to hit the target.
The best chance, though, came in added time when Abraham sent sub Luciano Narsingh in on goal, but the Dutchman's effort cannanoned off the crossbar with Ryan stranded.
But that was the closest the Swans went to a leveller, with Clement's side on eight points from 11 games going into the international break.
