Report | Plymouth Argyle U18s 2 Swansea City U18s 3
Josh Pescatore's 95th-minute winner ensured Swansea City Under-18s took all three points in their Professional Development League Cup encounter against Plymouth Argyle.
The Swans lead by two goals at the break. Morgan's Bates' added another goal to his tally whilst Ramon Rees-Siso converted a penalty after half hour played.
Plymouth got themselves back into the game after goals from Billy Devlin and Joe Hatch had levelled the proceedings in the closing stages.
And it looked to end all square, but Pescatore's free-kick in stoppage time snatched a dramatic win for the Swans, who were last year's finalists in the competition.
It's the third time the Swans have travelled to face the Pilgrims, with the hosts dumping the young Swans out of the tournament in the 2022-23 season.
The visitors found themselves ahead with less than five minutes on the clock. Swansea capitalised on an early corner, Bates raced from behind to power a header into the back of the net.
Sam Seager made two saves to deny both Hatch and Devlin, before the Swans were rewarded a penalty and it was well taken by Rees-Siso.
The restart saw the Pilgrims on top, and two quick goals from Devlin and Hatch had the hosts level going into extra time.
However, with seconds to go, Plymouth were down to ten after Lewis Flowers was dismissed for stopping a Swans attack.
And Pescatore made sure not to waste his chance, curling his strike into the top corner.
