Report | Peterborough United U21s 1 Swansea City U21s 2
Second-half goals from Sammy Henia-Kamau and Thomas Woodward ensured the Swans claimed three points in their Professional Development League clash at Peterborough.
Henia-Kamau opened the scoring in the 68th minute (info), and Woodward - fresh off his professional contract, added a second in the final 10 minutes.
The Posh pulled one back through Eddie Fox's long-range strike in stoppage time, but it was only a consolation.
Aimar Govea returned to the squad following international duty with Ecuador Under-20s, whilst Maliq Cadogan made his first appearance this season after returning from loan at Kidderminster Harriers.
Swansea had a bright start, creating a handful of chances in the opening quarter. The first fell to Govea, firing a low effort wide.
Peterborough keeper Bastian Smith was forced into a fine save not long after, Sebastian Dabrowski's free-kick from outside the box was no bother for the Posh stopper.
The Swans were on top, and Kyrell Wilson glided past a number of blue shirts to pick out Glory Nzingo, but the Irishman's effort was deflected out for a corner.
On the 20-minute mark, there were appeals for a Swans penalty when Justin Osagie brought down Wilson in the area, but the referee waved the appeal away.
The chances kept coming for the visitors, Nzingo was denied twice in quick succession before Govea's dipping strike landed just wide.
Despite the visitors having the better of the chances in the first period, it ended goalless at the end of the first 45.
Half-chances were exchanged in the opening period of the second half, Kit Margetson was equal to David Kamara's finish which was tipped onto the post before Kamara was once again denied by the woodwork moments later.
But the deadlock was broken in the 68th minute, when Henia-Kamau chipped the ball over Smith after he had palmed away Govea's delivery in to the box.
On 82 minutes Cadogan was next to strike the woodwork as the visitors looked to put the seal on the victory and they did so moments later as substitute Woodward tapped home at the back post to double the Swans’ advantage.
The hosts' Fox offered some respite with one minute left on the clock when his attempt took a nick of the Swansea defender and trickled in, but the Swans held out to take the points back across the border.
