Report | Norwich City U23s 0 Swansea City U23s 1
Brandon Cooper’s sensational first-half strike was enough to ensure Swansea City Under-23s got their Premier League 2 Division 2 season off to a winning start against Norwich City.
The defender, who started the game at left-back, netted the winner after 36 minutes at Colney Training Centre as coaches Cameron Toshack and Gary Richards saw their young guns make the perfect start to the campaign.
Cooper cut inside from the left flank and fired home from 25 yards, with Canaries keeper Archie Mair left helpless.
The Swans had chances to extend their lead, with the lively Jordon Garrick proving a constant menace out wide before he was replaced at the break.
Norwich were reduced to 10 men just past the hour mark as Saul Milovanovic was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card within three minutes.
The visitors then saw out the remainder of the game and kept their clean sheet intact as they headed home with three deserved points.
