Swansea City conceded three goals in the final 15 minutes to suffer a heavy defeat against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The contest had been an even one for much of the afternoon, although the Swans had trailed at the break to a Josh Sargent strike on the stroke of half-time.

They went on to deservedly level through Liam Cullen’s 10th goal of the season, but parity lasted a matter of seconds before Sargent lashed home his second to restore Norwich’s lead.

Lewis Dobbin would extend the home side's advantage with 14 minutes to go as Swansea’s tough run of results on the road continued.

And goals from Ante Crnac and Emiliano Marcondes compounded the visitors' misery in the final stages.

The Swans made just the one change from the defeat to Sheffield United as Hannes Delcroix came in for the suspended Harry Darling.

Norwich, meanwhile, made a pair of changes as Sargent and Lucian Mahovo came in for Jack Stacey and Ben Chrisene respectively.

Swansea’s two previous visits to Carrow Road had provided entertaining encounters, and this was similarly open early on.

Delcroix looked assured, cutting out an Onel Hernandez cross and showing a calm presence on the ball.

Shane Duffy headed the first chance wide for the hosts, before Swansea crafted a great chance when Josh Tymon’s superb cross found Cullen.

The Wales international could not make clean contact, Florian Bianchini could but Angus Gunn was on hand to divert the ball narrowly wide.

Swansea’s aggression in the press proved effective, forcing a succession of misplaced passes as they committed plenty of black shirts high whenever the hosts sought to build from the back.

Sargent flashed a low effort wide on one occasion, but the Swans looked comfortable for the most part. Cullen glanced a header wide after Ronald had delivered early from the left, before a brilliant touch from the Brazilian saw him trap a high falling ball and shape a shot that curled around the far post.

Hannes Delcroix Norwich

the Brazilian saw him trap a high falling ball and shape a shot that curled around the far post.

Delcroix covered well to prevent Dobbin pulling the trigger after the forward had beaten Ben Cabango and driven forward, while a flick off the Wales defender helped ensure a fizzing Sargent strike just went wide at the other end.

Swansea looked set to finish the half strongly as they penned Norwich back, but they were hit by a sucker punch when Emiliano Marcondes suddenly found acres of space, and was able to pick his pass for Sargent, who lashed the ball beyond Lawrence Vigouroux just a minute before the break.

Dobbin nearly doubled the Canaries’ advantage seconds before the half-time whistle, but the Swansea keeper was able to push away his angled drive.

The hosts also started the second half brightly, looking to get on the front foot, with Dobbin and sub Ante Crnac heavily involved.

At the other end, Myles Peart-Harris flicked on a Ronald delivery, but there was no supporting black shirt at the back post to meet it as the hour mark approached.

Josh Key did well to clear after Sargent had risen at the far post to send a header goalwards from six yards.

Key was involved again at the other end as he helped set up Swansea’s equaliser.

A flowing move was started by a thrust from Matt Grimes in midfield, and Key delivered an excellent inviting cross for Cullen to stoop to power home a header.

But Swansea were level for just a matter of seconds. The visitors did not clean up a loose ball in midfield, and Crnac seized on the error to tee up Sargent, who made no mistake in finding the far corner of the net.

Swansea came forward again, substitute Sam Parker seeing an effort blocked seconds after his introduction.

But Dobbin sealed the win for Norwich when he nipped in to win the ball and drove forward to send a low shot into the bottom corner.

And Crnac added gloss to the scoreline when he chased a ball in behind the Swansea defence, and got the better of Delcroix before rounding Vigouroux to slot home.

And Crnac was soon through again, striking the bar, with Marcondes on hand to nod in the rebound.
