Swansea City Under-21s suffered defeat on the road against Ipswich Town in their Professional Development League clash on Monday.

The Tractor Boys were three-nil up within the opening 15 minutes of the fixture with goals from Ayyuba Jambang, Ashley Boatswain and Tommy Taylor.

Swansea had two back in the second half through Sebastian Dabrowski and Morgan Bates, and created many chances to add a few more to their tally, but it wasn't to be.

Kyrell Wilson picked up more minutes on his return to full fitness, whilst first-year scholar Ben Phillips made his debut for the upper-age group being introduced as a substitute in the second period.

Jambang netted the first of the afternoon in the sixth minute, finding the top corner after a short passage of play from the home side.

And just six minutes later, Town doubled their lead from a corner-kick. Boatswain guiding in his header for the second at the near post.

Taylor extended Ipswich's advantage almost immediately after the restart, slotting home from teammate's Tudor Mendel-Idowu's low cross, and the hosts held on to their lead going into the break.

Just over 10 minutes into the second half, the Swans had a goal back through Dabrowski who lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper after applying pressure to the Ipswich defence.

The Swans had a handful of chances through Wilson after his introduction threatened the Ipswich back line, but he would soon turn provider for the Swans' second goal.

Good work from Josh Pescatore started the move to play in Wilson down the right before the forward layed off to Bates, who made no mistake to finish from inside the area.
