Swansea City Under-18s claimed an emphatic 5-1 victory on their travels against Charlton Athletic at Sparrows Lane.

The young Swans were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup just days prior, but bounced back with a dominant performance on the road.

Milo Robinson broke the deadlock for the visitors just minutes after the half-time interval as the Swans countered with pace. A pass was cut back for Morgan Bates, whose scuffed strike was converted by Robinson at the back post.

Aidan Higgins added their second on the hour-mark as Robinson turned provider. The midfielder threaded an inch-perfect ball through Charlton’s defence, allowing Higgins to muscle off his defender and fire at the near post.

The hosts were able to pull a goal back in quick fashion as Reuben Reid’s corner was met by Ethan Brown at the back post.

Josh Pescatore fired in his first of the afternoon in the 74th minute. Ramon Rees-Siso initially plucked a loose ball from the air on the halfway line and drove goalwards, before feeding it through to Pescatore who wrapped his strike into the far corner.

Pescatore had his brace nine minutes later following a neat move from the away side. Bates received the ball on the turn, slotting it out to Pescatore on the left-hand side of the box who fired a low strike across goal.

Ress-Siso rounded off the scoring at Sparrows Lane with three minutes left of the 90. The midfielder latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the young Addicks’ box and let fly with a superb, curling strike which sailed into the top corner.
