Rangel relishing another cup adventure
Angel Rangel pointed to Swansea City’s past success in the Carabao Cup as reason to dream of another memorable Wembley adventure.
Paul Clement’s side booked their place in the last 16 of the competition on Tuesday night after goals from Alfie Mawson and sub Jordan Ayew saw off Championship side Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
The Swans, winners of the cup in 2013, now look forward to the draw on Wednesday night.
"We are only two games away from the semi-final. We can dream – it’s still early I know – but we have great memories from winning it in 2013,” said Rangel, who made his second start of the season against the Royals.
“It was about doing the business and getting through, which we did.
“Reading are a good team and they made it difficult for us, but I thought we showed a lot of experience.
“We defended well and took our chances.
“You have to build on not conceding goals, and we have done well in that respect.
“We are very pleased with the defensive display and two goals – now we look forward to the draw on Wednesday night.”
