Rangel eyes Liverpool progress
Angel Rangel wants Swansea City to draw inspiration from last season’s victory at Anfield when they go in search of another shock at Liverpool this evening (5.30pm).
Despite surrendering a 2-0 lead, the Swans claimed an impressive 3-2 victory over the Reds on Merseyside last January thanks to Gylfi Sigurdsson’s winner.
It was a win that which kickstarted the Swans’ successful push for Premier League survival and Rangel is hoping for a similar story 11 months on.
The club captain made a brief appearance from the bench in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday, and has urged his team-mates to carry the positives from that result into their meeting with Jurgen Klopp's men.
“We won 3-2 at Anfield last year and hope to go there and give another good performance,” he said.
“We’ve got a lot of games coming up. I think it’s important that we keep all the positives and try to get some points.
“One of the main things is having the right mindset. If we keep doing the same things, the team will grow in confidence over the next few games.
“The commitment and desire will be there, that’s for sure.”
