Przemyslaw Placheta signs for Swansea City
Swansea City has completed the signing of Przemyslaw Placheta, subject to international clearance.
The 25-year-old left-sided wide player has joined the Swans on a deal through to the end of the 2023-24 campaign, having most recently been at Norwich City.
The Poland international further bolsters head coach Luke Williams’ options on the flanks following the arrivals of Ronald and Charles Sagoe Jr.
Having started his career in his homeland, Placheta went on to have a stint in Germany with RB Leipzig and Sonnenhof Großaspach before returning to Poland, where he featured for Pogon Siedlce, Podbeskidzie and Slask Wroclaw.
His pace and form – he scored eight goals in 35 league appearances for the latter during the 2019-20 campaign – led to a move to Norwich at the end of that season.
Placheta made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Canaries in his first season at Carrow Road as they secured promotion to the Premier League, and he made his top-flight debut against Leeds United the following term.
He joined Birmingham City on loan for the 2022-23 season, only for injury to curtail his spell at St Andrew’s, while he has made 19 appearances for Norwich so far this term.
Placheta has won seven caps for his country, and featured at the delayed Euro 2020 finals.
