Wrexham The Rock

Swansea City Women travel to face Wrexham in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup quarter-finals this afternoon (2pm).

The Swans come into the game looking to bounce back from the disappointment of losing the Genero Adran Trophy final against The New Saints Women last weekend.

First-team manager Jamie Sherwood and his side will be looking to kickstart an improved run of form, as they head into the contest in search of a first win in four games.

Wrexham come into the fixture having suffered just one defeat in 2025, which was at the hands of the Swans in the Genero Adran Trophy semi-finals.

Since then, the Dragons have been unbeaten, with a 7-1 thumping of Aberystwyth Town coming before a 1-0 win over high-flying TNS.

Jamie Sherwood v TNS Women

First-team manager Jamie Sherwood: “We’ve made it to one final and we want to give ourselves the best opportunity to do that again.

“We are disappointed with our full performance in our last game, so I think it does give us that extra bit of motivation to try and get to a final again and to put things right.

“We’ve got a good record against Wrexham, but I don’t read too much into that, for me it’s just about going in prepared to win a game of football.

“Wrexham are a formidable side, they are organised, they are robust, the environment is challenging, and it should be a very good cup tie.”

Team news

Maisie Miller Swans Women

Latest acquisition Maisie Miller is available for selection following her deadline day arrival for the Swans, with the versatile 20-year-old looking to make her debut.

The Swans remain without Emily Thomas following an ankle injury, but Aimee Deacon returned to action last week following a minor injury.

Previous meeting

Aimee Deacon v Wrexham

The two sides last met in the Genero Adran Trophy semi-finals, with a 3-2 win for the Swans sending them into the final.

Aimee Deacon fired the Swans ahead after just two minutes as she converted Stacey John-Davis’ cross, before John-Davis calmly converted from the spot before the break when Deacon was brought down in the box.

Wrexham fired back as Carra Jones’ lofted effort found the back of the net, but Emily Richards replied with a back-post finish to make it 3-1.

Olivia Fuller netted deep into added time for the hosts, but it would prove to be too little, too late.
