Preview | Swansea City Women v Cardiff Met Women

Swansea City Women return to Genero Adran Premier as they welcome Cardiff Met Women to Llandarcy Academy of Sport this afternoon (2pm).
The Swans got back to winning ways in their last outing, and will be looking to put together back-to-back wins for only the second time in 2025.
Cardiff Met come into the game still searching for their first league win of the season, knowing a defeat for themselves and a positive result for Aberystwyth would sea the Archers’ relegation.
Pre-match views

Caretaker head coach Yzzy Taylor: “It was a really positive display last time, we’ve had a good couple of weeks in training now, the intensity, the attitude, the application, it’s all been superb, and I think they are really excited to get back out there this weekend.
“The performance was great last time, the scoreline probably didn’t reflect the performance in the way that it should have, but ultimately we got the three points.
“We showed a lot of the principles that we want to see as a club, that desire and that application, and hopefully we can build on that this weekend.
“We know what they have at stake this weekend and that they will be coming with that fire in their belly, they demonstrated they have threats in our last game and that’s something we need to be aware of and ready for.”
Team news
Midfielder Chloe Chivers is available for selection having recently featured in Swansea City Women Under-19s’ 2-0 defeat to Pontypridd United Women.
Emily Thomas, Maddy Murray and Lauren Davies all remain out of contention as they continue their rehabilitation programmes.
Previous meeting

Steph Turner’s 88th-minute winner secured a first victory in seven for Swansea City Women as they defeated Cardiff Met Women in the last meeting between the sides.
After a goalless first half, the Swans had led when Taite Trivett’s low cross forced Celyn Garton to turn into her own net inside the six-yard box.
But India Shanahan’s volleyed effort into the top corner looked to have earned the Archers a point.
However, Turner would net her first goal of the season late on to ensure the visitors took the three points, converting Trivett’s low cross with time running out.
