Jamie Sherwood v Wrexham

First-team manager Jamie Sherwood: “It’s an opportunity for two big clubs to go head-to-head and put on a show for our supporters.”

“It’s a great opportunity to show the home crowd how we are adapting and moving forward with our new identity and way of playing.

“Any game of football is important, but the added bragging rights is huge, but for it is just a game of football that we have to go and win.

“I think our personality is starting to shine through, a lot of that came through a lot more consistently against Wrexham, which is what we are asking of the players, and when we do that we get our rewards.”

The two sides last met in the Genero Adran Trophy final, with Cardiff winning 5-1 back in April.

Monet Legall had given the Swans a well-deserved lead in the 18th minute, and they remained in front at the break.

But the second half saw the Bluebirds take control. Megan Bowen had Cardiff on level terms within seven minutes of the restart, before Molly Kehoe gave the league champions the lead for the first time with 20 minutes to go.

Late strikes from Rhian Oakley and Eliza Collie (2) rounded off the scoring for Cardiff in front of a crowd of over a thousand.
