Swans Women third kit

Swansea City Women play their final home game of the Genero Adran Premier’s first phase when they welcome Aberystwyth Town Women to Llandarcy Academy of Sport this afternoon (2pm).

The home side will wear the pink ‘Tackling Cancer Together’ third kit to mark World Cancer Day and raise awareness of the vital services provided by cancer support charity Maggie’s, on a matchday dedicated to their work in our community.

The Swans head into the game in a rich vein of form, having won 13 of their last 14 games, winning all four of their outings in 2024.

Since the turn of the year the Swans have also enjoyed excellent home form, netting 13 goals without response.

Aberystwyth come into the game off the back of an impressive 4-0 midweek win over Cardiff Met, taking them within one point of fourth-placed TNS with a game in hand.

The Seasiders have three games remaining in phase one and will be looking to overtake TNS to claim a spot in the championship half of phase two.

PRE-MATCH VIEWS

Chris Church v Pontypridd

Swansea City Women’s interim head coach Chris Church: “Everyone is buzzing after last week’s performance (a 5-0 win over TNS) and that is obviously something that we want to keep going.

“We’ve been reaching different levels each week and on Sunday we found a different gear, which you could see in the football we played.

“It’s about maintaining that, which can be difficult, but I’m confident that this team can do it.

“We always expect a difficult game against Aberystwyth, they are a fantastic team with a great work ethic, and you see that every time they step onto the pitch.

“We know that it will be a really difficult test, they are coming off the back of a great result, but we need to be professional and do everything right to come away with the result we need.”

PREVIOUS MEETING

Katy Hosford vs Aberystwyth

The two sides last met earlier this season, with the Swans firing four past the Seasiders without conceding to take three points home from Park Avenue.

Skipper Katy Hosford fired the Swans ahead early in the first half, before turning provider just before the break as Jess Williams headed home her corner delivery.

Hosford had her second of the game and fifth of the season after the break, her close-range header making it 3-0.

The Swans would cap their superb performance with a fourth goal, Monet Legall tapping home from Hosford’s shot.
