Swansea City look to book their place in the third round of the Carabao Cup and extend their unbeaten run to four games when they host Wycombe Wanderers at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Luke Williams side host the Chairboys on the back of two wins and a draw from their last three fixtures, and will start as favourites against their League One opponents.

Wycombe come into the game on the back of a fine home win over Rotherham United on the weekend and sit 16th in the table.

Team news

Joe Allen

Joe Allen returned from injury with a substitute outing against Cardiff City, while Florian Bianchini and Nelson Abbey could make their debuts having been on the bench in the south Wales derby.

Head coach Williams has said he will make changes for the second fixture in a three-game week, but is unlikely to completely overhaul his starting XI as he seeks to build consistency and manage minutes.

Luke Williams Press Conference

Luke Williams: "We still need to see where the new boys are at, they will be involved but it's hard to say how much.

"We did not get a lot of time to work with them, so we will see. We will make changes, we are not in a position where we can make loads of them but it's an opportunity for some different players to get minutes."

Matt Bloomfield: "We need to strengthen with the games coming up, the injuries we’re carrying. We’ve been in constant dialogue about what we and the club want to do so we’re hoping for a couple more faces this week.

"We are without quite a few of the lads with injuries, we are down to the bare bones a bit."

Remember the last time?

A late Swansea City fightback saw the hosts earn a point against Wycombe Wanderers and close the gap to the automatic promotion spots when the Chairboys last visited the Swansea.com Stadium in April 2021.

After a goalless first half, the visitors struck twice inside the first six minutes of the second half as Admiral Muskwe and Garath McCleary found the net.

That left the hosts facing an uphill struggle, but a Jamal Lowe penalty and a header from Liam Cullen saw the spoils shared.
