Swansea.com Stadium at night

Swansea City will look to make it back-to-back home wins when they host Plymouth Argyle at the Swansea.com Stadium tonight (7.45pm).

The Swans secured a hard-fought win over Derby County in SA1 at the weekend, and know another victory on home turf would put them within sight of mathematical safety.

Plymouth, meanwhile, came into the midweek round of Championship fixtures sitting bottom of the table, but they were just four points from safety prior to Tuesday's games and will be looking to boost their own survival hopes.

Team news

Goncalo Franco took a knock to his knee against Derby but is set to be available for the Swans after Alan Sheehan confirmed he has no new injury concerns following the weekend.

Kristian Pedersen remains on the sidelines following hamstring surgery.

Pre-match views

Alan Sheehan: "They are another team who are fighting for their lives, they are also physical so it’s another tough test.

"At this time of year everyone raises their game that extra five per cent because there is so much at stake.

"They had a very positive result against Norwich City, they went to Watford and got a point. They have had good results, and they beat Liverpool not so long ago in the cup.

"We have to be aware of that and try and be the best we can be, and you have to be able to do the right thing at the right times in games because some of the goals we have conceded have come more from individual errors as opposed to anything structural.

"We want to be consistently picking up points, and we have been. We have had one game out of seven where we were miles below par, but that consistency is important in the Championship.

"We want to pick up more points and go into every game to be competitive. We have to be adaptable to different challenges, I think we have been, we have shown different sides to us and that gives us the best chance."

Miron Muslic: “Every single good performance, every single good result we have had, was actually when we played in our structure. Organised, together, compact and very, very dangerous in transition. These are, I think, the perfect ingredients for us. They also fit to the current squad, and also, by the way, very difficult to play against.

“We need, again, the same structure, and the same desire and the same willingness inside this organisation. Then we will be able to grab the next three points - that's the plan, believe me.

“[Swansea have] absolutely no pressure, and I think this is a good team. They are very possession-based, very dominant in possession - very similar to Norwich. I think [Swansea have] the second highest possession in our competition, and had a fantastic result against Derby.

“They will have the opportunity to play free and we have to win. I want also my team to focus first on our performance. If we do this, we have the chance to go over there and grab the three points.”

Whittaker scored the only goal of the game for the visitors finishing from a first-half corner, with the Swans left to rue several wasted chances.

Ben Cabango, Jamie Paterson, Jerry Yates and Charlie Patino were all unable to take good chances, while Liam Cullen hit the bar late on.
