Preview | Swansea City U23s v Millwall U23s
Swansea City Under-23s welcome Millwall Under-23s to Landore on Tuesday in the Professional Development League (1pm kick-off).
The Swans go into the game on a four-game unbeaten run, having drawn all three of their games so far in 2022 prior to the postponement of their weekend fixture against Colchester.
In their last outing, the young Swans picked up a point away at Cardiff City, with the in-form Jaden Forrester scoring his fifth goal in as many games.
Swansea City Under-23s manager Kris O’Leary: “It’s brilliant, this is proper football, it’s game after game after game, it’s just like first-team football and this is a close as you will get to it at this level.
“It doesn’t happen often so it’s brilliant for the boys and they can’t wait, it’s all about recovery and getting ready to go again.
“We’ll be looking for a similar sort of performance, probably better on the ball playing out, but we’ll continue to play our way.
“The principles always remain the same with Swansea, we know what we’ve got to do and how we go about it, just looking to tweak things slightly from last time.
“The players have dealt with a heavy schedule superbly and, as mentioned, it’s some players' fourth game in a short time and it’s testament to the players with how they conduct themselves, but also the staff we have at the club and the expertise they show every day.”
Previous meeting
The two sides last met in SA1 in January 2021 with Swansea City Under-23s securing a hard-earned goalless draw against the then league leaders at Landore.
It was a creditable point for the young Swans against the in-form Lions, who had arrived in South Wales having won five of their previous six games.
The stalemate also gave the hosts their first clean sheet of the campaign.
