Preview | Swansea City U18s v Charlton Athletic U18s
Swansea City Under-18s welcome Charlton Athletic to Landore in the Professional Development League (11am) on Saturday.
The young Swans play their first competitive game in 21 days following fixture cancellations, defeating Cardiff City 2-1 in their last game.
An early goal from Kyrell Wilson and a second half header from Filip Lissah were the difference as the Swans defeated their South Wales rivals.
Swansea are still yet to be defeated in 2022, having won two consecutive games and drawn the previous two fixtures.
Charlton Athletic sit at the top of the Professional Development League south group, having only dropped points three times in their 15 league outings, suffering just one defeat.
The Addicks come into the game in exceptional form, having won all eight of their games in 2022.
In their previous outing, Charlton advanced to progressed to the semi-finals of the Professional Development League Cup with a 2-0 win over Barnsley.
Swansea City Under-18s’ coach Darren Davies: We’ve been knuckling down and working hard, they are a happy camp at the moment, they’re in a good place, both results and performance wise.
All of the boys have been playing with a smile on their face and ultimately when you work with young men that’s where you want them to be.
Previous meeting
The two sides last met in September earlier this season, with Swansea suffering their first league defeat of the season as the Addicks won 3-0.
The Swans had the chance to jump above second-placed Charlton in the table with a victory, but Daniel Kany’s first-half finish and goals after the break from Jason Adigon and Henry Rylah earned the home side victory.
