PREVIEW: Swans U18s v Southampton
18th September
Swansea City Under-18s return to Barclays Premier League South Division action against Southampton at Landore on Saturday (11am).
The young Swans earned their first point of the season last weekend after Mael Davies' equaliser helped the scholars secure a well-earned 1-1 draw at Norwich.
Meanwhile, the Saints have had a tough start to the season losing four of their first five games but go into the match buoyed by a 2-1 home win over Fulham.
The Swans have been boosted by the return from injury of midfielder Tom Dyson and striker Brandon Griffiths, and coach Eric Ramsay says his side must look to continue their development and progress in the league.
"It is really important we go into this weekend looking to build on the performance we put in against Norwich," he said.
"Myself and Chris (Llewelyn) don't want to put too much emphasis on that result but the performance we put in made us competitive.
"It is important we continue that progress to show we can be consistently competitive at this level.
"Results aside, we have performed very well in parts of the last three games. That came together against Norwich last weekend, where we did it consistently.
"We must keep that organisation and discipline and continue to add more quality and possession.
"We have a few players available for selection again which will give us more strength and depth.
"Like us, Southampton have had a tough start to the season but we will not underestimate them. We just need to focus on us and the job we need to do."
Swans U18s squad: Lewis Thomas, Alex Lang, Ben Jones, Aaron Lewis, Daniel Jefferies, Matt Blake, Causso Darame, Mael Davies, Jack Watts, Thomas Dyson, Jordan Jones, Liam Edwards, Jack Evans, Keiran Evans, Brandon Griffiths, Sean Hanbury.
