Swansea City Under-18s turn their attention to the Premier League Cup this weekend as they travel to Devon to take on Plymouth Argyle on Saturday (2pm kick-off).

It's the first time the two sides have met in a competitive fixture at youth level, as the young Pilgrims reside in the EFL Youth Alliance League, alongside cup counterparts.

The young Swans will have a chance to secure their quarter-final place as they currently sit top of the Group E table with four points.

Darren Davies’ side will look to continue their fine run of form, having won their last two away games against Bristol City and Reading in the Professional Development League.

Plymouth have lost their two group stage games against Bristol City and Exeter City respectively.

There will be a familiar face in the home set-up as ex-Swansea City midfielder Darren Way is the man in charge of the Pilgrims under-18 team.

The former Yeovil Town manager made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Swans, including three appearances in the victorious Football League Trophy campaign in the 2005-06 season.

Swansea City Under-18s’ coach Darren Davies: "It'll be a nice game, we haven't played Plymouth in a competitive game before. It'll be a good day to go down there.

"I know they're very well coached under Darren Way, it will be a new challenge going down there, but I'm looking forward to it.

"The boys have been working extremely hard over the last couple of weeks, on and off the pitch and hopefully our good form can continue."

Defender Jada Mawongo: "The first two rounds we did really well. We won our game against Exeter City comfortably.

"Now, our final game is against Plymouth. It's a long trip but the boys are ready for it, with these results we have had we few we can take on anything."
