Swansea City play their final pre-Christmas fixture when they take on Hull City at the MKM Stadium this afternoon (12.30pm).

The Swans suffered a first defeat in five games against Sunderland last time out, and will be keen to bounce back having relinquished an early two-goal lead against the Black Cats.

Hull, meanwhile, currently sit bottom of the Championship pile, and will be hoping new boss Ruben Selles can make an impact after replacing Tim Walter in the Tigers hotseat.

Team news

Josh Ginnelly pre-season

Sam Parker and Josh Ginnelly were able to play a part in full training in the week, although they remain a few weeks away from a return to match action.

Kristian Pedersen is sidelined having undergone hamstring surgery, while Joe Allen and Ollie Cooper will also be missing for the Swans.

Pre-match views

Luke Williams: “They will be coming into this game with a different mindset in the early stages of working with a new manager.

“We don’t expect anything easy, we expect a group with a new energy, new ideas. It is difficult to analyse them over a long period of time because things are changing very quickly.

“So it is a huge challenge, but we have just faced a very strong side in a very good place.

“This is a a team who are in a different set of circumstances, but have not had a fantastic start to the season.

“We should go there feeling confident enough to give them a really tough game.”

Ruben Selles: "The first thing for me is the players are giving everything, from day one. Even in games where we had tough moments, like Coventry, they still put the effort in.

"We know that things cannot change straight away, but we need to be able to make things change through our actions and our attitude.

"We need to compete and fight for everything because, with the position we are in, no-one is going to give us anything. We will have to earn it."

Remember the last time?

Swansea City claimed the first league win of Luke Williams’ tenure as Liam Cullen’s goal gave them victory over play-off hopefuls Hull City at the MKM Stadium.

Cullen swept home a Josh Tymon corner in the 11th minute for his fifth goal of the season, and it proved the difference, although the Swans margin of victory could have been greater given the promising positions they got themselves into.

They also defended stoutly when required as the visitors followed their head coach’s demand that they show belief in themselves despite being viewed as underdogs, and it yielded a deserved three points and a first away win at Hull since 2014.
