Swansea City Under-21s kick off their Premier League Cup campaign with a trip to Fleetwood Town on Sunday afternoon (1pm).

The Swans progressed to the last 16 of the competition last term after finishing second in their group behind Aston Villa.

That set up a quarter-final clash with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, but the Swans suffered a 5-1 defeat with the Blades becoming eventual champions.

This is Swansea's second trip to Fleetwood this season, with the Cods producing a second-half comeback to win 3-1 at Poolfoot Farm in August.

Fleetwood have lost two of their last three fixtures, suffering a 4-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth last time out.

Coach Anthony Wright: "We're excited to get the cup under way. We did really well last season against some top category one teams.

"It's another trip to Fleetwood, but this time we'll be playing at a different venue. They were tough opposition when we faced them just last month.

"We'll have some bodies back with players returning from injury, and we'll hopefully start the campaign on a good note."
