Swansea City Women v Barry Town United Women

Cascade enter the quarter-finals as the only second tier side left in the competition, beating Cardiff Met Women 1-0 to book their place.

The Caerphilly outfit currently sit fourth in the Genero Adran South, six points behind leaders Cwmbran Celtic with a game in hand.

Pre-match views

Jamie Sherwood v Aberystwyth

Swansea City Women first-team manager Jamie Sherwood: Any chance to put yourself 90 minutes away from winning a trophy is a positive moment and it’s a moment we have worked hard for already this season.

The squad have been putting themselves through physical challenges on the training ground to enable them to have an opportunity like this.

We expect strong and organised opposition who will look to maximise their potential over us and we must be ready to demonstrate our standards, our ability and our mentality against Cascade

We have an identity with the ball that should suit any condition we play in. We want to control possession, we want to make our opponents move into areas that they believe they are in control and then exploit their weaknesses.

We believe in our ability in possession and those pictures and scenarios are becoming a trend in our games now which is pleasing but what is more satisfying is our personality without the ball.

If we approach the game with a clear identity and a purposeful personality then we have a great opportunity to achieve a target set back in May.

Stacey John-Davis vs Cascade 2

The two sides previous meeting also came in a quarter-final, with the Swans progressing to the Bute Energy Welsh Cup semi-finals with a 6-1 win.

The Swans fell behind early on as Erin Parry’s long-range strike cannoned into the net off the crossbar.

But they responded in emphatic fashion with a quick-fire double from Stacey John-Davis.

Kelsey Thomas extended the Swansea lead just before the break, scoring her first goal for the club with a calm finish.

Skipper Katy Hosford made it 4-1 in the second half, arrowing a low effort into the net from the edge of the box, before sliding home her second goal in the 89th minute.

There was still time for Jasmine Guymer to bury an excellent strike into the top corner with the last kick of the game for her own first goal for the club, as the Swans marches into the last four.
