Preview | Cardiff City U18s v Swansea City U18s
Swansea City Under-18s travel to Leckwith on Saturday morning to take on rivals Cardiff City in the Professional Development League (11am).
The Swans have already locked horns with the Bluebirds this season in the PDL Cup, where they kicked off their campaign with a 4-2 victory thanks to a Sammy Henia-Kamau hat-trick on his full debut, whilst Jack Fanning added to the scoreline with a terrific header.
Swansea go into the fixture on the back of three consecutive wins against Watford, Bournemouth and Queens Park Rangers respectively.
The Bluebirds, meanwhile, have gone unbeaten in the month of October with victories over Ipswich and Bristol City in the league, and a draw against Plymouth Argyle in the PDL Cup.
Pre-match views
Coach Ollie Jefferies: "There's always excitement when we play Cardiff, but we'll go into it just like any other game and implement our principles and style of play.
"The mood is good after some great results and performances from the boys. We know the nature of the game can get the better of the players, but that's something we'll discuss pre-match."
Previous meeting
Two second-half goals saw Swansea City Under-18s fall to defeat against rivals Cardiff City in their last Professional Development League clash at Leckwith.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, a Kyle Kenniford penalty shortly after the hour mark put the Bluebirds ahead before a Cody Twose goal deep into added time sealed all three points for the home side.
The result ended a three-match unbeaten run for the young Swans, as they were left to rue missed chances after creating a number of promising opportunities.
