Swansea City return to Championship action by making the trip to Lancashire to take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

The Swans have lost just one of their last five fixtures, although Luke Williams' side were frustrated not to have taken more than eight points from that spell.

Blackburn, meanwhile, suffered back-to-back defeats before the international break but have yet to lose a league game on home turf this season.

Team news

Eom v Stoke

The Swans are without Jisung Eom, who is sidelined by the knee injury he suffered on international duty.

Andy Fisher and Kristian Pedersen are making good progress in their recovery from groin and hamstring injuries, while Sam Parker has been unwell.

Josh Ginnelly is also sidelined for the visitors.

Pre-match views

Luke Williams: "We have another tough Championship game ahead, no doubt about it.

"We know what we are expecting from them and we have to go there and be a good side if we are to get anything at all.

"We played very well in our last away game, and if we can produce that level consistently on the road we will have a really good return.

"I think Sheffield United are a fantastic side, that will be one of the toughest away games for anyone this season, so if we can give a good account of ourselves in that game then we should take that as being our level and our standard away from home.

"That is to go to places and control the game and be competitive, and we have to do that again."

John Eustace: "I think the players we have here at the moment are doing very well.

"I think it's very evident that we put the group together late and there are other areas we want to improve, of course, there are.

"We would like to bring more players in. But it's important people realise we are a work in progress. We've made a great start but there will be ups and downs.

"We will win games, lose games and draw games. These players are 100% committed. Of course, we'd like to sign more players to make us even better and improve.

"The squad we have at the moment is a very talented group of players who we're delighted to be working with."

Remember the last time?

Swansea City got back to winning ways with a hard-fought victory over Blackburn Rovers as they claimed the spoils at Ewood Park for the first time in 52 years on their last visit to the ground.

Liam Cullen’s curling effort gave the visitors the lead on the half-hour mark after Jamal Lowe had twice been denied  by the assistant’s flag.

The Swans had chances to extend the lead with the best of these falling to Jamie Paterson early in the second half, who picked the pocket of a defender but couldn’t apply the finish.

The home side – who came into the match on the back of three consecutive wins – put more pressure on in the second half, but failed to really test Carl Rushworth and the Swans were able to hold firm to claim their first win in Blackburn since 1971, and a third consecutive away success in the Championship.
