Swansea City Under-21s return to Professional Development League action on Tuesday afternoon as they travel to Barnsley for their opening game of the season (1pm).

The Swans finished just one point outside the play-off positions last season, with the top two places being claimed by Millwall and Bristol City.

The age-grade side finished the season as top scorers in the south division, scoring 80 goals over 28 games and will want to start the new campaign well.

The young Tykes finished their season in seventh place in the north division. The last meeting between the two sides came at Oakwell where, despite the Swans taking an early lead through Ben Lloyd, the home side came out on top with two quickfire goalsin a 2-1 win.

Coach Anthony Wright: "It's a long trip to start out the season, but nonetheless we're looking forward to getting going again.

"We've had a good pre-season, and it was a different pre-season as we've had some competitive games early on in the calendar in the Nathaniel MG Cup.

"We played Barnsley at their stadium not so long ago, they have good facilities and the boys can't wait to get the season started."
